Rhythm Creek Retreat is the result of a lifelong dream of its founder, Marsha Williams-Creek. Growing up on the ranch surrounding the Rhythm Creek Retreat, horses figured prominently in Marsha's life. Over the years, she has been awarded a veritable room full of trophies and honors while riding and showing her horses in regional shows and rodeos. Later in adulthood after her only child Ty was born in 1986, Marsha, chose education and counseling as her career goals. Upon completing her educational credentialing, she gained over 20 years of experience in the Public School System and has acquired a broad knowledge base in Public Education and Counseling. Marsha has held positions in the Public School sector in Teaching, Counseling and Administration. She also holds Degees and Certifications in Elementary Education, Special Education, Special Education Counseling, Administration, a Master's in Counseling and is Licensed as a Professional Counselor currently working in private practice.
In 2008, with the help of Marsha's wonderful husband Tom, Grammy and Peepaw Ogden, Mike and Mark Ogden and his wife Jeanette, as well as countless numbers of friends who donated their time, money, and moral support during a very dark- tragic time of life, RHYTHM CREEK RETREAT was built. Marsha's only child Ty Williams, of 21 years and the only grandchild of Sevoy and Ruth Ogden suddenly lost his life in a jeep accident on August 5, 2007. Ty was a very talented writer and musician, leader of the Rhythm Creek Band, a Senior at Texas Tech, loved life and the outdoors, lived every moment as if it were his last, brought many smiles to our faces, had a deep passion for people of all ages, inspired us all with his loving personality and sense of humor and thrived on the joy and happiness of others. He had a "don't worry, be happy" attitude.
Rhythm Creek Retreat was built in Memory of Ty Williams, named after his band Rhythm Creek and is dedicated to the two people he adored most in his life..... His Grammy and Pepaw Ogden.
